The term graphic design can refer to a number of professional disciplines, which focus on visual communication and presentation. By using symbols, images and words a graphic designer can create a strong visual representation of ideas and messages.

Graphic design, good and bad, is all around you. It is the most universal of all the arts. From road signs and advertisements to the design of a crisp packet or the logo on your t-shirt, you engage with design constantly, whether you realise it or not.
